 I got into this nasty habit when I log into SL, I go and check on bunnies (don't judge me!) and then I log out and into my working av. Thats it. Thats what I've been doing. I have things to blogged just filling a folder, an inventory that has been neglected and an av that would really like to change her clothing. However, this is what I've been living in. I love this dress, by Mischief, lets me be sassy the little bit of time I get to be on as me! Something else I mentioned on my plurk page, location location location! I got really lazy for a while and stayed in my studio for all of my pics. I like to explore, so I will try and get some time in for that too. This was taken at the Pixel Mode sim.   I spent a bit of time wandering the accessory fair this last week and found some awesome pieces! Included is a ring from SyDS, I got a ton of them (I couldn't resist the fatpacks I tell you!) and a necklace by Cailyns. These are just a couple of the pieces I found.  I often wonder what someone else thinks when they see the word Cyberstalking. I certainly cannot be the only one sitting back and reading blog posts the last few months with pure disappointment in watching grown adults cyberstalking, or bullying, other people simply because they can. I woke up this morning to a plurk about a child being cyber bullied and thought really, how amazing it is to see the same type of behavior going on in an adult community like Second Life and how it has been deemed acceptable in some forms, for some people. I did a little bit of googling, reading on the Wikipedia, and am more convinced than ever that there are in fact some people within our community that very publicly cyberstalk people and are even supported for it. The question remains, why? At what point are we drifting over that line of justification to post and say whatever we want to being a harasser or stalker? A short quote that really made me think: "When identifying cyberstalking "in the field," and particularly when considering whether to report it to any kind of legal authority, the following features or combination of features can be considered to characterize a true stalking situation: malice, premeditation, repetition, distress, obsession, vendetta, no legitimate purpose, personally directed, disregarded warnings to stop, harassment, and threats." Even more interesting read a bit further down, about a cyberstalkers behavior: "Victims of cyberstalking may not even know that they are being stalked. Cyberstalkers may research individuals to feed their obsessions and curiosity. Conversely, the acts of cyberstalkers may become more intense, such as repeatedly instant messaging their targets. More commonly they will post defamatory or derogatory statements about their stalking target on web pages, message boards and in guest books ..." I think there are people who are cyberstalkers and don't even realize it. Running off and searching information about people online just to post it in an 'informative blog post' is, in the eyes of many, a form of cyberstalking. It isn't just about an obsessive ex who wont stop watching someone they want to be with still. Its also in the form of one person making very public statements about someone they really aren't involved with in order to obtain blog hits, encourage discussion about said person or even using the cover of calling it a vent. It never ceases to amaze me to find people you would otherwise think of as normal, mature adults participating in the ripping, slandering and hostile commenting about someone they in all honesty have absolutely nothing to do with. At what point will someone actually stand up and say 'No, this is wrong' and fight against this form of internet abuse? Is it an acceptable activity for certain people because they are better known, or popular in a sense, to the public? Is this what encourages people to come in and make comments thus adding to the abuse by participating themselves? Or have we hardened ourselves and forgotten the fact that there is indeed a person behind ever avatar and simply because we don't like them, approve of their choices, have an issue with their behavior or someone we know doesn't like them, does not entitle us to be cruel and harass them. Before anyone even tries, by the way, there is a very clear difference between letting the public know factual information and being outright hostile while doing so, this is where the line gets fuzzy for most. Do many of us have any idea the internal stress and anxiety that can be caused by being targeted by people in this way? Can we imagine how a person can be affected, or has human compassion and sensitivity to the well being of others been cut off once we sign on? Interestingly enough I have received a lot of feedback about cyberstalkers/bullies when I talk to people in world about it but it remains, people are actually afraid to stand up for others because they don't want to be the newest target. It sounds just like high school, doesn't it? Where does that activity of informing the public, sharing our own experiences or venting cross the line into cyberstalking and is there anyone left who is willing to speak up and say 'I think what you are doing is wrong!' Regardless of what the person may (or may not) be doing, the bandwagon has been making its rounds for months, stopping to run over a person here or there and very few have put a foot down to say, enough. I suppose when you get right down to it, we would only do that for our closest friends, those we have an emotional attachment to because, as so many put it so well, we just don't care about the other person being discussed. There are so many times, I am extremely ashamed to admit, that I have sat back and watched it in sincere pain while someone else is trashed at the enjoyment and delight of others. I've been here too long, maybe, and been harassed myself, and I internalize everything to the point of feeling what the person must be feeling upon reading the words of others. The year is fast coming to a close, 2009 is almost gone, breaking the silence and standing up for people when and where I can is going to be one of my biggest, and granted possibly the toughest, goal for 2010. Whether you think so or not, everyone matters, we all have feelings and instead of ripping someone down, you would get so much more out of life for lifting them up. Amazing to me, I am actually sitting here expecting someone to insult me or tear me down for saying much of what I have said, or intend to say in the future, but I guess this time I get to be the one that says 'I don't care....enough is enough.' I took a much needed break from blogging and even plurking over the last week or so. I needed a bit of time to get a few things done, and oh so much has changed that I didn't even expect. Really, between the flu, a cold (almost on top of each other, ouch!) and an entire sim pretty much dropped in my lap, other online insanity, EQ2, my time with Sands, the list goes on and on. My inventory has become even more insane than when I started the organization project, you remember? The one I quickly dropped for a shopping spree? Yes, that one, all a mess now thank you so much. I opened up my Object folder and just started dropping out boxes that needed to be unpacked. After sucking up about half of my prims on my last rented piece of land, I started unpacking them and watching my inventory fill even more. Pushing towards 45k now, I started digging for something to wear. Oh look......a gift from Mischief!  Now, normally, you won't see me wearing shirts with text on them. First, its on the boobs, look what the boobs do to it, how sad for the text! Second, ok wait...no, there is no second, its all about the text stretchage! However, even though I am far from an SL hussy, the text on this one made me laugh. I love it, its eyebrow lifting and gave me a smile for the day. Hey, it could be true, somewhere there is an ex of mine doing something I taught him, right? Oh you hush, just nod, smile and say right! I tossed on my comfy drawmachine jeans and found some boots from ETD, and tada! A great outfit for working in, and trust me, working is all I have been doing in SL lately! There will be more updates on that as time goes on, trust me.  Now, when I first started SL on this av I was a redhead neko who wore glasses all the time. Well, I dug out the glasses at least? I love them, but since I am not in world at the moment I couldnt even tell you were they are from. When I log in tomorrow, for more working, I will update my SLURLS. I'm just sort of blogging to make the time go by a bit faster and because I needed something to do. I hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween, here we have just gotten past my birthday (as of, well, just hours ago!) and are looking forward to Thanksgiving. I love the holidays, and this time of year, most of the time, I really do. So much work to do, but keeping my mind and hands busy helps me get through the days. With all of the projects in SL I am working on, a fierce raiding schedule on EQ2 with Sands and the couple of other games we have decided to play at leisure...its going to be an amazing season. Have a great Wednesday, people of SL, I hope its filled with as much happiness as you can handle...and even, a wee bit more that makes you so happy that people get sick of it. I love that kind of happy....  There was a mini-expansion in EQ2 a couple of days ago that left me in PvP heaven, so I didn't have a lot of time to work on my inventory. I did manage to unpack and locate a few great pieces, even better when paired up with others that were already lingering, unused, in my inventory. My favorite pieces from this is the belt from Tuli and the scarves from fairy tail. Absolute essentials, don't you think? The scarves came from one of the gumball machines at the GATCHA event. The pants are a pair of really really old jeans by Nyte N Day, and a piece I put on just to show people that old items are not out of date or just plain out useless. There are still some fabulousness left in them, and I love using them with the new items like the sweater from Mischief and the top by PACADI. We all know where the shoes are from by now, right? Say it with me...Shiny Things. Oh I heart thee.  Nothing else much to update today, I know imagine that...a blog post where I don't ramble for too long! Heading out to handle errands and get a lil man a haircut, I need to see his adorable face again. Will be meeting up with Kerra for lunch and then a bit of shopping, always the best time with her! Just finished up a great 'weekend' with Sands and that massive PvPing. From gear to titles to achievements and a ton of laughter, its been an awesome couple of days. I hope everyone has an amazing weekend coming up. I will have a couple more posts, of course, as I tackle that inventory again. Someone...save me?  In my effort not to shop I had been debating on visiting the jewelry fair. There are gifts, so that counts as not shopping, right? Lets not pay attention to the fact that I would probably give in to temptation, that isn't the point here, I was going just to window shop and pick up a few gifts. Honest. Really. Stop looking at me like that. I was fiddling with outfits and checking out my ARC when I gave up completely and started tossing together a new look of the day. The jeans and sweater here are from Mischief, I don't think I need to explain my torrid love affair with her again now do I? I went to her most recent sale and stocked up because it is a sickness, and one that I am very happy with as I pad my Mischief folder yet again. Coupled with a tank and belt from MIEL, who I told you I visited the other day, I absolutely fell in love with this look! I tossed on one of the few hairs I have from fri.day, a pair of flats from 50 Flats and tada! Oh piffle, my ARC is over 700. I suppose that means I wont be heading out to the fair after all...my linden balance thanks you ARC, as does my inventory count. Until I change again, that is....  I haven't had much of a chance to talk about it lately, but I am still enjoying my online time so much lately. I think my lack of sleep is catching up to me, but its so worth it. Things in EQ2 are working out nicely, gearing up and leveling my alt, Sands was just asked to be the raid leader and giving a ton more responsibility again in our current guild. Its always so nice to sit and listen to people recognize his leadership skills and how good he is at tanking our raids. Even better now that he can run them, as they did need a bit more organization. I always look forward to raiding and spending time with him. Speaking of which, tonight we raid, tomorrow will bring a new look of the day, and I promise, no shopping!! I know what you are gonna say, good grief, not these people again. I admit I have been obsessing over the same few people time and time again on my blog lately but I can't help myself, I am in love with them and I suppose this is my outlet for the amazing things in my life right now. Sure, I will get back to venting and being miserable when something happens, be ready for it you drama whores! (I'm jesting, by the way, I don't think you are all drama whores, just that one there, and maybe that one over there...and, ok you get the idea!) For now, you are stuck with sickeningly sweet and happy posts. Hence the title of this post, it's sick to be this happy, I know. Get used to it, with particular people in mind because honestly this is where my energies are spent. Nope, not going to turn into some psychobabble about what other people should or shouldn't do, just going to live and let live. Its amazingly freeing to do so, and I am very thankful for the people that remain in my life and are here to share it with me. That's SL, EQL and RL! I think its unhealthy to smile this much, my cheeks kinda hurt lately. Its nice to hurt from something like that, dontcha think?  Anyway, today I was SO amazingly lucky to get to spend some time off n on with Kerra. We did a wee bit of shopping (ok it was only a wee bit because we are broke, we need SLjobs so we can stop being SLobs...shush, it made me giggle) and I asked her if she would mind being part of my blog post today. Yep, she went kicking and screaming into the studio and skybox with me, can you tell how upset she is? Was even devastated when I dragged her to the beach for some pictures too! Poor Kerra. Someone should save her...save her now I say!  The very top picture is outfits we each came up with purely from Mischief. Somehow I started neglecting my store updates as they came through and completely missed Mischief's latest releases! Unacceptable!! I have always loved outfits that come together, really makes it easy but Mischief always puts out the best seperates and I could easily live daily on just her clothing. She is awesome, expect to see more of her. Just, cuz I can.  After that I saw a notice from LAQ about new clothing there. Now, I have not once gone into their clothing section before. Why is that? How did I get stuck on just hair (which I never wear, its so not me, doesn't work on my head shape) and skin (which I also don't wear, but I do adore their skins, wish they would work on my features as well...maybe some tweaking...wait, don't let me buy more skins! Nooooo...) but their clothing I will wear! Some of this stuff is beautiful and as soon as I get my SLob self out there to make more SLindens, wait that one doesnt work so well does it...whatever.... I will be returning for at least three more things. Just three, because I made myself stop looking! We picked up their newest swimwear and lingerie and came up with the remaining pictures. I had another lingerie picture in mind but somehow didn't hit 'snapshot' because I got distracted but will be including it later, so look for it! I think Kerra looks hawt, darn tall thin blonde makes me look like a lil tub o'dark hair here! Actually, naw, I think we both look good, so much so I will be doing more pictures soon. I really enjoy editing and playing with them, so I suppose you will be doomed to see more of us and our shining faces!  I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! My RL one is coming to an end, still a bit of it tomorrow of course. My 2nd weekend with Sands starts tomorrow as well! I'm extremely excited about a bit of extra time with him and then his 2 normal days off that he takes during the week simply because it fits our schedules best. He knows I can't be on as much during the day on the real weekends, so he actually reworked his own days off so it wasn't interfering with any of my RL priorities. It really is nice to know that I am one of his priorities, enough that he is willing to do that so we can have time together. At some point tonight our alts are going to hit the level we want and he is going to actually do some shopping for my dirge, get her a bit of gear and weapon, at least until our shard work is done. All of this is greek to most of you, I know, it just happens to be one of the many things we have going on right now. I am determined to have even better pictures for this week, so if you see me dragging Kerra, or Sands around, kicking and screaming (like I said before) its all for my blog addiction.  Spring sprang, and then left again here. Thank goodness the seasons are not so fickle in Second Life! I was able to spend a great deal of time today working on yet another area of our sim and decided to take a break to post this look of the day. The outfit is the RFL item that Mischief has provided and I absolutely love the colors. Mischief was always been one of my favorite designers, one of many that has stuck with SL over the years producing fabulous clothing. To date, my Mischief folder has had to be organized into sub folders countless times because I simply have so much! I also took this chance to show one of my newest favorite hairs from ETD, she has a handful of new items out now that the sim is open again so be sure to stop by and try them. The location, of course, is Waffle Island, my own personal landscaping and decorating playground. Please come by and visit us, even though improvements are still being done.
